Bad snow on the peninsula

Hey guys! We got some pretty bad snow out here in Port Angeles today. So bad infact that when i was leaving church this morning I slid right into a ditch! Luckly I had my camera with me so i took a few pics. Here they are.

In the end some of my friends and some people i didn't know came and we were able to get it out. As far as i can so there isn't and bad damage. But when i get back to work I'm going to put it up on the lift and give it a good look over. I pretty sure it will need an alignment.

I don't want to sound in any way insensitive to what happened but....those pictures look so freakin' cool. Yesterday I was just telling Geo how I'm worried about if we get any snow over here. I'm probably gonna put a bunch of weight in the trunk if we do see any snow.

Anyone have any tips for Del Sol's in the snow other than keeping them in the driveway? I remember Geo saying something about not using chains on the tires or something like that.

Let us know if it does need just an alignment. I haven't seen a wheel off the ground like that since the last time I went 4 wheelin and a Jeep got highcentered.

Haha! No problem I thought it was pretty cool too that's why i took the pictures. Yeah once i get it up on the lift and look it over really good I'll let everybody now what's up.
As far as sols in the snow, i'm not to sure what to do (which you can tell from the pics). Have to ask geo that one.

Wow, that is something else, hope it's not messed up to much.

About chains, Honda says not to use chains ever, studded snow tires and maybe the cable type would be ok (but it doesn't say anything about them, I use to have some rubber ones for my old car, they worked pretty good but I don't think they make them anymore), but if one breaks you can say goodbye to the inner liner as well as the fender on the car. So with that said, I'd stick with studded tires only as Honda recomments.

By the way I saw on the news today you got about 2-6 inches up there. Here only ice everywhere on the roads, I-5 and 512 were pretty much shut down this morning, (took me 35 minutes to get to work by the back way, sliding at most every stop, 7-8 of the teachers didn't make it to work at all, with a few others being/coming in late).

I was wondering what happened to the board. Anyways on monday night when the snow came down hard, it took me over three hours to get from redmond to north seattle. I wasnt stuck in the 405 mess thank god but when i got home, i had no power for about 2 hours but at the end of the night everything was good.

On my way home many of the nice porsches and BMWs slide out of control and either got stuck on the side of the road or ended up in a ditch. I had no problems driving on the snow or ice and avoided any hills and stayed clear of the cars ahead of me. Never really had a problem and the couple times i did slid, a little correction on the steering wheel recovered the car. I guess watching all them drifting DVDs really helped. Anyways rear wheel drive and cars with too much power really struggled from my observations.

Those are some great pics. I saw many O' car in this predicament that day, but none quite as graceful looking as this. The ?Del Sol? is much more fun when used as an exhilarating mode of transportation than when made into a teeter totter. Maybe little damage was incurred, but something about that picture is unsettling. Reminds me of the horror of looking at my 2002 Honda VFR800 on its side only a few days after I bought it. Some things just aren?t meant for my eyes.

For all of the Sol owners here in the northwest? I am praying for no more snow. I have driven my Jeep for 12 years, now it is time to have some fun!
